Denmar Correctional Facility & Jail is looking to fill a Corrections Business Manager vacancy.
Under limited supervision, this supervisory position provides management over procurement, purchasing, inmate trust accounts, receivables, payables, and facility-based contracts.
This position will assist the superintendent with maintaining the facility budget, budget preparation, monitoring and collection of budget data and reports to ensure spending is within budgetary limits, and provide monthly financial reports to management for review.
Performs administrative and professional accounting work in directing the financial, accounting, purchasing, and GAAP reporting activities.
Responsibility includes management of fiscal related responsibilities and other business related activities for the assigned institution.
Supervision is exercised over a staff of clerical employees.
This individual is involved in the hiring, training, and employee performance reviews of all individuals in the unit.
All activities and processes must be in accordance with established policies and procedures as well as rules and regulations of the agency, State Auditor’s Office, State Department of Administration, IRS, Legislative Auditor's Office, comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), and any other entity as applicable.
This position has wide latitude to exercise independent judgment.
Performs related work as required.
In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility.
Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, Mount Olive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility, Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki Douglas Juvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and Eastern Regional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB 3088)Employees hired prior to March 1, 2024, shall receive a non-base building paydifferential of $2,294 in March of 2024.
Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differentialeach fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.
If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves thefacility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.
